The UltimaPro RT was designed to protect and backup small and large-scale mission-critical equipment from power disturbances detrimental to workflow continuity. Double-conversion online topology with true sine wave output delivers seamless operation, reliability, and stability to stay powered through mains power failures while delivering the “clean” power for sensitive equipment. Advanced technology makes this a high-performing UPS the ideal solution within small spaces with maximum energy efficiency to cut down on energy costs and lower environmental impact, plus built-in battery connector allows battery expansion to increase battery runtime to minimize downtime even more. The rack mount form factor was designed to fit rack cabinets where space consideration is essential.

Main Features
(8) Battery-Backed Outlets with Surge Suppression
These outlets keep critical electronics online during a temporary blackout, adjust minor voltage fluctuations, and offer protection from power surges and voltage spikes.

If a blackout occurs or a power disruption beyond the tolerance range is detected, the UPS will switch over to battery power and supply these outlets with power. Connect mission-critical electronics to these outlets.

True Double-Conversion Online Topology
The main supply is fed directly into the UPS and charges batteries within the UPS. The battery power is then converted back to the main power to feed the protected equipment. Due to these two conversions, this UPS type is often known as a Double-Conversion UPS.

Zero Transfer Time
True online double-conversion topology for zero transfer time from Line Mode to Battery Mode in case of a power disturbance prevents malfunction of mission-critical equipment.

Pure Sine Wave Output
Best waveform for sensitive electronics. Benefits include:
• Smoother waveform
• Best for sensitive equipment
• Higher quality than a modified sine wave
• Maintains voltage at a safe level
• Motors run at their intended speed and with less heat
• Equipment runs with less noise
• IT equipment lasts longer
• Low harmonic distortion

Overload Protection
Protects the UPS from an overload. If the circuit breaker trips, unplug a few electronics before resetting the circuit breaker and turning your unit back on.

1.0 Power Factor
A 1.0 power factor rating is the ideal rating for UPS and offers the most efficient loading of the power supply. It maximizes energy efficiency to cut down on energy cost and energy loss by reducing the load on transformers and distribution equipment.

Emergency Power Off (EPO) Tab
Instantly shut off the UPS and prevent the UPS from supplying power in the event of an emergency.

Load Segment Control
Control grouped outlets allows better management of battery power by prioritizing mission-critical devices by manual or pre-setting. This allows mission-critical devices to have longer backup time than non-mission-critical devices.

Expandable Battery Runtime
Add up to 3 external battery banks to extend the battery runtime of your UPS.

2A to 8A Adjustable Battery Charger
Select between 2A to 8A battery charging current for faster battery recharge time depending on the number of external battery modules connected to the UPS. This is especially useful if located in an area with frequent power disturbances that would cause the UPS to run on Battery Mode frequently.

Hot Swappable Batteries
Replace batteries without shutting off the UPS to avoid downtime.

Power Management Software
Monitor and control the UPS from your computer with the included user-friendly software to automate computer shutdown, monitor battery levels, set UPS parameters, receive alerts of abnormalities, and more.

50/60Hz Frequency Converter Mode
Select 50Hz or 60Hz output frequency best suited for connected equipment. It is especially helpful when used to help regulate the speed of motorized equipment to match the frequency.

NOTE: If input frequency is 60Hz, setting the UPS output frequency to 50Hz will derate the UPS capacity by 40%.

Rack / Tower Convertible
Install the UPS in vertically or horizontally.

EMI / RFI Filter
EMI / RFI filter suppresses electromagnetic noise and radio frequency interference transmitted from AC power.

ECO Modes
Efficiency Corrective Optimizer (ECO) improves energy consumption by changing how power flows through the UPS.

ECO Mode: Improves energy efficiency of the UPS by setting the UPS to "standby." Input power will bypass voltage to output when the input voltage is within the acceptable range. Power factor correction and the inverter are still active in this mode.

Cold Start Capable
Turn on the UPS even without utility power as long as there is sufficient battery power.

Auto-Restart During AC Recovery
Once power returns to normal and the battery levels are sufficient, the UPS will automatically restart.

Off-Mode Charging
The UPS continues charging the internal batteries when powered off as long as the unit is plugged into an AC mains wall socket.

LCD Screen
See real-time status information of your UPS power conditions including the voltages, battery level, fault detected, and more.

Enable / Disable Audible Alarm
Enable or disable the audible alert for your unit.

To enable or disable the audible alarm, turn the LCD screen on first then press the button twice quickly. The UPS will beep once the alarm is enabled. The default setting for the audible alarm is enabled. If the alarm is disabled, no audible alert will be made when the UPS reaches a low battery state.

Optional Accessories (Not Included)
• Network Management Card - For remote power monitoring. See model number #SNMP-2 for compatibility with this UPS series.
• Rail Kit - For installation to rack cabinets. See model # ULT-RMKIT123 for the compatible rail kit to this UPS.
• Add-On External Battery Banks - Extend the battery runtime in the event of an extended power outage. See model # ULT-P1.5KRTKBB for compatibility with this UPS.

Connected devices are not receiving power from the UPS
1. New UPS units
Follow these steps if this is a new unit:
A. Verify the battery cables behind the front panel are connected. All rack mount UPS from Maruson are shipped with battery cables disconnected during transportation. If the battery connectors are not securely attached, the LCD may indicate a charger error when powered on.
B. If the LCD indicates the UPS is in Standby Mode, you must change to Line Mode. In Standby Mode, the outlets are not supplying power to connected equipment. Change the UPS from Standby Mode to Line Mode for connected equipment to receive power by pressing the ON button while in Standby Mode for two seconds. The UPS will take approximately 15 seconds to complete startup diagnostics before switching to Line Mode.
C. If the above solutions do not work, contact Maruson for additional steps.

2. UPS older than 30 days
A. Check if the rear circuit breaker or fuse are broken due to an overload or surge. Reset or replace as needed, or contact us for additional information.
B. Check for error messages on the LCD and check the user manual for additional solutions. Contact us if the solution is not clear or you need additional help.

3. UPS older than two years
A. Battery end-of-lifespan. Replace all batteries with the same type and size. Online UPS batteries are always in use (for the double-conversion for zero transfer to Battery feature) so the lifespan for batteries for online UPS always end faster than offline UPS.
B. Check for error messages on the LCD and check the user manual for additional solutions. Contact us if the solution is not clear or you need additional help.

How often should the UPS batteries be recharged if placed in storage?
Recharge the UPS batteries every four months for at least four hours if leaving in storage to maintain battery capacity and lifespan.

How do I use the software included with the UPS?
Go to the Downloads tab and verify the software is compatible with your operating system. Connect the USB cable that came with the UPS to the computer from the UPS USB port. Download the software and follow the on-screen instructions. Restarting your computer may be necessary.

Note: Some third-party USB cables may not be compatible with the UPS system.
