TUV logo

The Tacoma II is a sophisticated double-conversion online UPS with step-down output isolation transformer and true sine wave output designed for exceptional power protection and performance for organizations that rely on uninterrupted, stable power for workflow continuity. A built-in isolation transformer isolates the output power from the input, preventing electrical noise from affecting equipment by reducing transients and harmonics. DSP-controlled technology plus low input harmonic distortion, low output voltage distortion levels, and output voltage regulation precision makes this UPS a superior solution for sensitive equipment. APFC improves the power factor and power quality for a high-efficiency design that reduces energy consumption and heat build-up while maximizing available output energy. Common external factors were also taken into consideration – the UPS was designed with built-in MBS, OVCD, temperature sensor, and fan lock sensor for easier maintenance and alerts on common environment factors that affect UPS performance and longevity. Additional configuration options allow up to three units to be used for parallel redundancy (N+X) up or parallel-capacity system (N) to increase overall capacity.

Main Features
Output Isolation Transformer
The step-down isolation transformer delivers 100 / 110 / 115 / 120 / 127Vac and 208 / 220 / 230 / 240Vac output voltage while suppressing high frequency noise from the output voltage.

Zero Transfer Time
True online double-conversion topology for zero transfer time from Line Mode to Battery Mode in case of a power disturbance prevents malfunction of mission-critical equipment.

Pure Sine Wave Output
Best waveform for sensitive electronics. Benefits include:
• Smoother waveform
• Best for sensitive equipment
• Higher quality than a modified sine wave
• Maintains voltage at a safe level
• Motors run at their intended speed and with less heat
• Equipment runs with less noise
• IT equipment lasts longer
• Low harmonic distortion

DSP Controlled Technology
DSP (digital signal processor) controlled technology for high reliability, accuracy, and efficiency.

Active PFC to Improve Power Factor
Active PFC (power factor correction) improves the power factor and power quality of the UPS by reducing harmonic distortion in the electrical system to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy loss. Additional benefits include active wave shaping of input current, low voltage drop, filtering high-frequency switching, waveform control through feedback sensing from the power source, and regulation of output voltage based on feedback control.

High Overload Capacity
UPS can handle overload up to 125% for up to 10 minutes, and up to 150% load for up to 30 seconds.

<2%Output Voltage Regulation
The UPS regulates the output voltage to be within 2% of the set output voltage. Voltages outside acceptable ranges can cause electronics and electrical components to overheat and may cause premature failure of the devices.

The voltage reference of this UPS is set to a fixed 2% output voltage regulation even when parameters such as ambient temperature change. A precise output voltage is important for sensitive electronic equipment such as ones that require calibration for accuracy and also sensitive electronics are more susceptible to damage when receiving power outside its input range.

OVCD & Overload Protection
Protects the UPS from overvoltages and overload.

OVCD (overvoltage cut-off device) cuts off power to the UPS from neutral open or double phasing, and delays powering on the UPS when such a problem occurs to avoid initial power surges that are harmful to the UPS. The UPS will automatically start up again once voltage power returns to a normal state.

THDi <5% and THDv <2%
Low UPS THDi and THDv by firmware monitoring and control. THDi (input current total harmonic distortion) under 5% when powering on the UPS from the mains power source to the UPS rectifier. A low THDv (voltage total harmonic distortion or THDu) decreases the deviation of voltage from the ideal sine wave shape.

High or unregulated THD reduces the performance capabilities of the UPS and passes onto connected equipment for equipment failure, data loss, cut down lifespan, and causes overheating. Low THD improves power quality, allows higher power factor, lowers peak currents, and offers higher UPS efficiency.

4A Battery Charger
4A battery charger for faster battery charging time.

Expandable Battery Runtime
Add up to 3 external battery banks to extend the battery runtime of your UPS.

NOTE: This UPS does not have any batteries inside. An external battery bank is required for battery backup function.

EPO Tab
Instantly shut off the UPS and prevent the UPS from supplying power in the event of an emergency by pulling on the EPO (emergency power off) tab.

Built-in MBS
Safely service the UPS while keeping connected equipment powered with the built-in MBS (maintenance bypass switch).

Temperature Sensor
An internal sensor detects overheating of the UPS and turns on the internal fans as needed to keep the UPS cool.

Fan Lock Sensor
A built-in sensor detects if the fan is jammed, preventing the fan from cooling the UPS system.

Advanced Battery Management
Maximize battery performance and lifespan with an intelligent, 3-stage battery charging system based on Constant Current, Constant Voltage, and Floating Charge for optimal battery charging performance.

EMI / RFI Filter
EMI (electromagnetic interference) / RFI (radio frequency interference) filter suppresses electromagnetic noise and radio frequency interference transmitted from AC power.

Set Output Frequency
The output frequency can be set to either 50Hz or 60Hz for better performance with sensitive electronics.

NOTE: Setting the UPS output to 50Hz will derate the UPS capacity by 40%.

Cold Start Capable
Turn on the UPS even without utility power as long as there is sufficient battery power.

Auto-Restart During AC Recovery
Once power returns to normal and the battery levels are sufficient, the UPS will automatically restart.

ECO Mode
ECO (efficiency corrective optimizer) Mode improves energy consumption by changing how power flows through the UPS by setting the UPS to "standby." Input power will bypass voltage to output when the input voltage is within the acceptable range. Power factor correction and the inverter are still active in this mode.

N+X Parallel Redundancy (up to 3 units)
This series allows for the expansion of the UPS reliance with a parallel-redundant setup up to 3 units (N+X) or a parallel-capacity system (N) to increase overall capacity up to 3 units for 30kVA capacity.

Power Management Software
Monitor and control the UPS from your computer with the included user-friendly software to automate computer shutdown, monitor battery levels, set UPS parameters, receive alerts of abnormalities, and more.

Optional Accessories (Not Included)
