TUV logo

The Tacoma Series with step-down transformer is a true double-conversion online UPS with pure sine wave output delivering reliable power protection for mission-critical equipment. An expansive list of features delivers high-performance technology and features for optimal UPS performance for this series. This series allows for the expansion of the UPS reliance with a parallel-redundant setup with one additional (N+1) or a parallel-capacity system (N) to increase overall capacity up to 2 units for 12kVA capacity. An output voltage regulation of 2% or lower delivers more precise power to sensitive electronics for better UPS performance.

Typical Applications

Surveillance systems
Lab equipment

Telecommunication equipment
VoIP / PBX systems
Automation equipment

Financial institutions
Emergency lighting
Security systems

Main Features
Step-Down Transformer
The step-down isolation transformer delivers 100 / 110 / 115 / 120 / 127Vac and 208 / 220 / 230 / 240Vac output voltage while suppressing high frequency noise from the output voltage.

Zero Transfer Time
True online double-conversion topology for zero transfer time from Line Mode to Battery Mode in case of a power disturbance prevents malfunction of mission-critical equipment.

Pure Sine Wave Output
Best waveform for sensitive electronics. Benefits include:
• Smoother waveform
• Best for sensitive equipment
• Higher quality than a modified sine wave
• Maintains voltage at a safe level
• Motors run at their intended speed and with less heat
• Equipment runs with less noise
• IT equipment lasts longer
• Low harmonic distortion

DSP Controlled Technology
DSP (digital signal processor) controlled technology for high reliability, accuracy, and efficiency.

PFC to Improve Power Factor
PFC (power factor correction) improves the power factor and power quality by reducing the load on the electrical system while improving energy efficiency and reducing power loss.

Wide Input Voltage Range
Minimizes the need to switch over to battery power and frequency of battery charge and recharge cycles by correcting extreme voltage distortion for higher system reliability.

THDi <5% and THDv <2%
Low UPS THDi and THDv by firmware monitoring and control. Input current total harmonic distortion (THDi) under 5% when powering on the UPS from the mains power source to the UPS rectifier. A low voltage current total harmonic distortion (THDv or THDu) decreases the deviation of voltage from the ideal sine wave shape.

High or unregulated THD reduces the performance capabilities of the UPS and passes onto connected equipment for equipment failure, data loss, cut down lifespan, and causes overheating. Low THD improves power quality, allows higher power factor, lowers peak currents, and offers higher UPS efficiency.

Emergency Power Off (EPO) Tab
Instantly shut off the UPS and prevent the UPS from supplying power in the event of an emergency.

Overvoltage & Overload Protection
Protects the UPS from an overvoltages and overload.

EMI / RFI Filter
EMI / RFI filter suppresses electromagnetic noise and radio frequency interference transmitted from AC power.

Maintenance Bypass Switch (MBS)
Safely service the UPS while keeping connected equipment powered with the built-in MBS.

4A Battery Charger
4A battery charger for faster battery recharging time to prepare for the next power disturbance.

Advanced Battery Management
Maximize battery performance and lifespan with an intelligent, multi-stage battery charging system to auto-sense the optimal battery charging performance based on battery levels.

Cold Start Capable
Turn on the UPS even without utility power as long as there is sufficient battery power.

Auto-Restart During AC Recovery
Once power returns to normal and the battery levels are sufficient, the UPS will automatically restart.

Set Output Frequency
The output frequency can be set to either 50Hz or 60Hz for better performance with sensitive electronics.

NOTE: Setting the UPS output to 50Hz will derate the UPS capacity by 40%.

N+X or N Parallel Option (up to 2)
This series allows for the expansion of the UPS reliance with a parallel-redundant setup with 1 additional unit (N+1) or a parallel-capacity system (N) to increase overall capacity up to 2 units for 12kVA capacity.

Power Management Software
Monitor and control the UPS from your computer with the included user-friendly software to automate computer shutdown, monitor battery levels, set UPS parameters, receive alerts of abnormalities, and more.

LCD Screen
See real-time status information of your UPS power conditions including the voltages, battery level, fault detected, and more.

Mute Audible Alarm
Temporarily mute the audible alarm from your UPS by pressing the Mute button when audible alerts are ongoing. The mute setting is reset once the UPS returns to a normal state for the next time unusual activity is detected.

Optional Accessories (Not Included)
• Network Management Card - For remote power monitoring. See model number #NMC for compatibility with this UPS series.
• Parallel Cable - Parallel up to 1 x TAC-6KD for parallel redundancy. 2 x cables are required per paralleled UPS set.

Warranty (US & Canada)
2-year equipment warranty, 2-year battery warranty, and 2-year $25,000 connected equipment warranty with product registration. See Terms of Use and Warranty pages for additional information.
